AJ aka VIHippieChick is a diverse mother who is passionate about about food, coffee, beer and wine.  For AJ food is more than mere nourishment.  It is the community and culture that surrounds food that intrigues her.

Raised in Calgary, AB, AJ learned to cook at a young age.  Taught by her mother she not only learned how to get dinner on the table but how to create feasts and be an amazing hostess.  During her college years she worked in restaurants and coffee shops.  After college AJ worked as a legal assistant, eventually becoming a paralegal as well as working as a customer service critic.  After relocating to Victoria, BC she fell in love with the Vancouver Island way of life, the close proximity to a vast number of farms, vineyards, local coffee roasters and microbreweries.  Always having a secret desire to be a writer AJ began randomly blogging about life.  Now she is combining her way with words and love of foods to tell her tales as a foodie.
